Join us for a a Free Day at the National Liberty Museum.

Experience liberty test, shaped and lived.

Kick off Independence Week with our Free Museum Day as part of the city-wide Wawa Welcome America Festival. Explore our current exhibition series – The Forgotten Freedom: American Assembly at 250 – and learn how people gather, compete, protest, and create through our right to free assembly.

Showing Up Since 1776: Assembly, Association, and Protest traces how the right to free assembly has shaped the United States from the nation’s founding to today and features objects such as a chair from the First Continental Congress and a pennant from the 1968 Poor People’s March on Washington.

Sports Jawn and In the Arena bring together more than 50 pieces of sports memorabilia, including Jackie Robinson’s equipment bag, a 1936 Olympic torch, and game-worn jerseys, to examine how sports create shared local, national, and global identities.

The Art of Assembly presents over a dozen contemporary artworks that reflect on the meaning and impact of gathering together.

Amplified: Art, Music, Power
