Perseverance - Malala's Magic Pencil by Malala Yousafzai

Join us for Malala’s Magic Pencil by Malala Yousafzai and learn what it means to have perseverance in difficult times. Then, make and use magic pencils of your own to explore how to shape a better world! Readings at 4PM & 5PM.

Big Ideas for Little Learners is a literacy program for children ages 3-8 and their grown-ups. Developed in partnership with the Early Childhood Education Center at the Salvation Army Kroc Center, this program introduces “big ideas” — such as respect, empathy, courage — to our littlest learners. All programs include a read-aloud, hands-on activities, a reading corner, and refreshments. Participants will also receive a custom Take & Do bag with materials and resources to continue learning at home.  Along the way, we’ll discover how each of us can help make the world a happier, more just, and equitable place.
