National Liberty Museum Launches “Let’s Talk”, Final Exhibition in “The Year of Free Speech”

Philadelphia, PA | May 5, 2025 – The National Liberty Museum (NLM), located in the heart of historic Old City, will unveil its new Let’s Talk: Confronting What Divides Us exhibit on May 16. The exhibit is the third and final installment of NLM’s 2024–2025 initiative, The Year of Free Speech, which celebrates the past, present, and future of the First Amendment.

The exhibition will feature an immersive experience where visitors can interact with artificial intelligence (AI) to engage in civic dialogue, explore multiple perspectives, and practice discussing contentious topics with those who might think differently— including topics such as censorship, identity politics, and rapid technological change.

“At the heart of democracy is the freedom not just to speak, but to listen,” said Alaine K. Arnott, President and CEO of the National Liberty Museum. “Let’s Talk challenges assumptions about division in America and equips visitors with the civic and communication skills to listen actively, speak thoughtfully, and build a more connected society.”

The interactive space was developed in collaboration with TimeLooper, a New York-based experience design firm. Also featured in the exhibition is Jesters and Fools, a short documentary by filmmaker Rob Feld that blends sociology and humor to explore the role of media in politics and our national identity.

Let’s Talk will be open to the public from May 16, 2025, through March 2, 2026, in the museum’s 3rd floor galleries. NLM, which is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary, will host a preview event on May 15 and a Community Open House on May 17. For tickets to these events, please visit here.
