Marshall James Kavanaugh  |  Dream Seeds Poetry Workshop

Marshall James Kavanaugh is a Philadelphia-based dream laborer and performance poet. He has performed his poetry at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Barnes Foundation, Monument Lab, and the Philadelphia International Airport. As Dream Poet For Hire, Marshall creates stream-of-subconscious inspired poetry on demand for the general public. Equipped with a Smith-Corona Skyriter, he sets up in public spaces around the city and tailors on-the-spot poems on any theme. @dreampoetforhire

For April, guests will celebrate Earth Day and National Poetry Month through typewriter poetry and environmentally-conscious crafting. During the session, guests create a haiku postcard using naturalistic observation and write an intentional poem on seed paper. The seed paper used to type these poetic mantras is crafted from recycled paper with native wildflower seeds. Participants will be given the option to take home their typed intentions and plant them in their own gardens to watch their dreams and intentions grow and eventually blossom, a gift that will benefit the bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
