THIS MONTH

Civic Season is here, and we are ready to celebrate! Test your knowledge of everything from history to pop culture with a special Quizzo trivia game night and enjoy free pizza in partnership with Made By Us and Pizza to the Polls. Get a sneak preview of one of the live musicians who will be performing at this year’s Red, White, & Blue To-Do hosted by Philadelphia’s Historic District Partners.

KJ McNeill

KJ has been a professional musician since the age of 10, and has not slowed down once since. Being raised in a musical household, he quickly learned the value of mastering multiple instruments (drums/percussion, guitar, bass, keys), as well as becoming a seasoned vocalist & producer. Currently, KJ works with several bands, including American Deluxe Band for which he is the lead male vocalist/drummer. KJ’s life as a live musician also include regularly performing with acclaimed trumpeter, Lee Hogans (Prince, Maceo Parker), as part his group “Pursuance”. Independently, he has produced music for his own projects (KJ MCNEILL- “Contact”), as well as other artists; Hadar, Brenda K. Star, Thomas Clay, Ginger Coyle, Cole Redding, Joey Gallagher, KeithFromUpDaBlock, Abstract Truth and more. Most recently, he was fortunate enough to accompany the incomparable STEVIE WONDER as a vocalist on his latest tour! @kjmcneillmusic

ABOUT CIVIC SEASON

Juneteenth will mark the beginning of the fourth annual Civic Season, a new summer tradition focused on utilizing our past to prepare for our future. This period unites our nation’s newest holiday, Juneteenth, with its oldest holiday, July 4th, and is co-designed with Gen Z learners, activists, thought leaders, and historians. Gen Z is the generation stepping into adult citizenship on the cusp of the United States’ 250th birthday in 2026 – Civic Season invites them to have a voice in the conversations that will shape it. Civic Season is the flagship program from Made By Us, a network of hundreds of museums, historic sites, libraries and archives unleashing access to history for younger generations who have the most at stake.
