The Young Heroes Outreach Program (YHOP) is already halfway through the school year! Many of the 13 participating schools this year are already finishing up the Training Phase of the program. In the first half of the year, students are trained through a standards-aligned curriculum that teaches the skills necessary to take steps toward positive social change. With these skills now in their toolkit, students are beginning to transition into the Action Phase. This second half of the program guides students in the research, development, and execution of their own “Community Action Project.” We are eager to see what issues this year’s students decide to address and the creative solutions they devise!
