Teacher Advisory Group

The National Liberty Museum seeks K-12 teachers, administrators, and civics and history specialists to advise on the evolution of our educational programs as part of a new Teacher Advisory Group (TAG). For more information, contact jtshudy@libertymuseum.org
Mirror Gallery 400x400

WHO SHOULD JOIN?

K-12 teachers, school leaders, and curriculum experts with a range of experience, subject areas, and interests. Your school or organization does not need to be affiliated with the NLM for you to participate.

WHAT WILL TAG DO?

The TAG will provide critical input for the creation of new field trip programs, teacher professional development opportunities and resources, as well as the evolution of our flagship Young Heroes Outreach Program. TAG will advise on curriculum development, program delivery, instruction, practices, pacing, and resources. The group also will provide insight on what makes an ideal NLM-school partnership in empowering students and educators with 21st-century skills and best practices in student-led civics learning.

WHY IS THIS GROUP BEING FORMED NOW?

The NLM is embarking on an ambitious new strategic plan; our work with schools remains critical to our mission and our work. We are committed to working alongside educators and experts as we expand our programs and create resources for the future.

WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?

The group will meet 4-6 times per year (virtually in 2021) and will be invited to participate in focus groups, task forces, and other initiatives as they arise. TAG participants will be expected to be in communication with NLM’s school programs team and will be encouraged to turn-key ideas and practices in their schools whenever possible. In thanks for your time, we will provide refreshments (in the form of a GrubHub gift card), complimentary admission to Museum programs, and letters acknowledging your participation as a Teacher Advisor.
