As a Museum dedicated to presenting liberty as an “ongoing human quest we all share” (see our mission here), we thought it would be helpful to present an array of Social Issues, which we hope will prompt you to investigate, discuss, and address. We will provide a definition of what each Social Issue is, why it exists, and how ordinary citizens can participate in making a difference.
The first Social Issue we will examine is “Discrimination.” Please check back every month, as we add more Social Issues for you to consider.
At the end of each school year, the NLM's Young Heroes Outreach Program, which brings the Museum’s civic leadership curriculum directly into area schools, holds a grand celebration to showcase the Social Action Projects created by all of the participating schools. This year the celebration was a VIRTUAL event and their projects are available for viewing on this website!
