The National Liberty Museum celebrated its TD Bank 2016 Young Heroes Award on Thursday, August 11.

The annual TD Bank Young Heroes Award recognizes young people who have championed liberty through their actions to enact positive change in their schools and communities. Loraine Ballard Morrill, Director of News and Community Affairs for Clear Channel Media, served as the emcee, as she has for several years. The keynote speaker was Alexa Grabelle, Founder of Bags of Books and the winner of a Young Heroes Award in 2013. Museum CEO Gwen Borowsky was joined by TD Bank Representatives in presenting the awards. Tom Shoemaker, Commercial Market President, TD Bank, provided the sponsor remarks. The student selected for the top prize, the President’s Honor Award, is 16 year old Anthony Rivera from The U School in Philadelphia, PA. Anthony received a $2,000 award for his work to help young people productively express themselves and promote cultural tolerance and understanding through art, film, and music.
