How to Get Here

The National Liberty Museum is located in the heart of historic Philadelphia at 321 Chestnut Street, just two blocks from the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall.


From 1-95 South: Take Exit 22, Historic Area. At bottom of ramp, go straight on Second Street towards Chestnut Street. Parking is available along Second Street between Market and Walnut Streets.


From I-95 North: Take Exit 20, Washington Avenue. Make left onto Columbus Blvd. Follow signs to Market Street. Make first left onto Second Street. Parking is available along Second Street between Market and Walnut Streets.


From I-76: Take 676 East to Independence Hall (Eighth Street) Exit. At first light, turn right onto Eighth Street. Turn left onto Market Street. Turn right onto Fourth Street. A public parking garage is located on Fourth Street between Market and Chestnut Streets. If garage is full, turn left on Chestnut (pass the Museum) to parking garage on Second Street.

SEPTA BUSES providing service to this area include bus routes: 5, 9, 17, 21, 33, 38, 42, 44, 48, 57 & 121.

SEPTA Regional Rail Lines stop at nearby Market East Station. From there it is a short bus or subway ride, or a leisurely walk to the Museum.

SEPTA Market-Frankford Subway stops at Second and Fifth Streets on Market, only a few minutes' walk away.

The PHLASH Visitor Trolley stops on Chestnut Street near the Museum.
