Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) -

Helping Businesses Help Us

Click here to read the Business Guidelines and download the simple Application form to submit on July 1st.

EITC is a program of the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED). It authorizes the Department of Revenue to reduce your taxes by the same amount as your contribution to the National Liberty Museum.

Instead of paying taxes to Pennsylvania, you help us educate and inspire young people to become responsible and productive citizens. If you’ve ever read the news or noticed something in your community and wished you could do something about it, this is a perfect opportunity for a win:win that’s a true return without any added investment.

Corporations and Partnerships are both eligible for a 75% - 90% tax credit toward taxes you owe for any of the following:

  • Corporate Net Income Tax
  • Capital Stock Franchise Tax
  • Bank and Trust Company Shares tax
  • Title Insurance Companies Shares Tax
  • Insurance Premiums Tax
  • Mutual Thrift Institutions tax
  • Personal Income Tax of S Corporation Shareholders, or partners in a general or limited partnership

The process is as easy as 1-2-3, but the timing is critical. On July 1st, your 1-page Application form must be in Harrisburg. The Commonwealth only allocates a specified amount of tax credits and uses a first-come, first-served approval process until the credits are exhausted. To be sure they receive your application in time, we will hand-deliver it for you.

  • Complete your Appendix I – EIO and give it to us. We will hand-deliver it to Harrisburg on 7/1. Click here for a copy of Appendix I-EIO. By mid-August, you’ll be notified by DCED of your approval for tax credits.

  • Within 60 days of receiving your approval, make your contribution to National Liberty Museum, 321 Chestnut St., Philadelphia, PA 19106 We will immediately provide you with a Proof of Contribution letter.

  • Immediately send DCED the Proof of Contribution letter. (It must arrive within 90 days of your approval.) DCED will notify the Dept. of Revenue.

Then you and your company can publicize your good citizenship and business savvy as a much-appreciated supporter of the National Liberty Museum’s important work.
