Heroes of Character Poster - Susan B. Anthony

Susan B. Anthony played a critical role in the 19th century women’s rights and anti-slavery movements in the United States. She co-founded the National Woman's Suffrage Association, published a weekly journal to promote women’s and African Americans’ rights and spoke on the topics for several years. Anthony’s story teaches about the importance of fairness in the What Should You Do? portion of the exhibit, which uses real-life dilemmas (bullying, cheating, a lunch-room fight) and inspirational stories to help participants understand the role of universally accepted values. Allison Cole is an illustrator and graphic novelist whose work has been featured in gallery shows. Her full-length graphic novel, Never Ending Summer, was published by Alternative Comics in 2004. She is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and is based in Providence, Rhode Island.
