Tiger Cub Scouts: How I Tell It Achievement
This program will fulfill Requirement 4d.
Communication is always a two-way street: we express ourselves to another person and the other person hears what we are saying. Although most people use words as their primary means of communication, there are other ways to communicate as well, such as through writing, body language, sign language and art. Effective communication skills are important for people of all ages, as misunderstandings or conflicts can occur when we either don't express ourselves clearly or we don't listen to what the other person is saying. During this program, Scouts will discuss the importance of respectfully communicating with others to avoid conflicts. Scouts will participate in a group activity under our "Peace Portal" sculpture, a safe place for respectful disagreement. They will also engage in fun interactives, including using our shredder machine to "get rid of" the negative words we sometimes use. Note: On the event date above, this badge program is provided in combination with the Wolf Cub Scouts: Making Choices Achievement.
Wolf Cub Scouts: Making Choices Achievement
This program will fulfill Requirements: 12a - 12k.
We make choices every day - sometimes they are so easy we don't even realize we've made them! Other times the choices we face are more difficult and we turn to our parents, friends, teachers, scout leaders or other role models for guidance. To show how challenging good decision-making can be, we will introduce Scouts to some of the Heroes honored in our Museum and discuss the tough choices they made in order to do the right thing. The Scouts will then have the chance to make some tough decisions of their own, as they navigate through several animated adventures in our new Heroes of Character interactive exhibit. Note: On the event date above, this badge program is provided in combination with the Tiger Cub Scouts: How I Tell It Achievement.

Bear Cub Scouts: What Makes America Special? Achievement

This program will fulfill Requirements: 3a, 3b, and 3j.
We live in a country where liberty belongs to everyone. Unfortunately, putting that concept into practice took time for our nation. Many people had to work together to protect our rights and ensure that our freedoms were expanded to include all of our citizens. Today, we realize that America's diversity is what makes our country so special, as people of diverse backgrounds have contributed to our society in many different ways. In this program, your Scouts will discuss why they think America is special. They'll learn about famous Americans who have contributed to improving our way of life and get the chance to vote for issues that matter to them. Note: On the event date above, this badge program is provided in combination with the Webelos Cub Scouts: Citizenship Achievement.
Webelos Cub Scouts: Citizenship Achievement

No event date scheduled at this time.
This program will fulfill Requirements: 1,12,13, 14, 15 and 16.
As citizens of the United States, our freedoms come with both rights and responsibilities. For instance, Freedom of Speech gives us the right to speak our minds, but we also have the responsibility not to hurt others with our words. We must treat these freedoms with great care. Another aspect of good citizenship is the concept of making a difference. We become good citizens in our schools, neighborhoods, and communities when we reach out to help others. Scouts will discuss the rights and responsibilities of U.S. Citizenship, explore ways to help our communities, and get the chance to vote on important First and Second Amendment issues. Note: On the event date above, this badge program is provided in combination with the Bear Cub Scouts: What Makes America Special Achievement.
Bear Cub Scouts: Ways We Worship Achievement
There are many different religions in the world. Do your Scouts know that the United States was the first country where everyone was free to practice the religion of his or her choice? It doesn't matter whether we worship in a church, synagogue, mosque or other building - the Constitution protects us all. Many heroes honored in our Museum have used their faith to make the world a better place. In this program, Scouts will focus on our Voyage to Liberty Through Faith gallery and discuss heroes who brought different religious groups together, including Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa and other peace seekers.
