Glass Now 2007... A Tremendously Successful Auction & Weekend
Saturday, October 6 marked the National Liberty Museum's eighth annual Glass Now auction of fine glass art. More than 500 collectors, artists and friends from across the country and beyond attended this lively event to support the Museum's work teaching young people to reject violence and hate.
Glass Now included more than 300 original works up for bid. Among the world-renowned artists represented were Lino Tagliapietra, Dale Chihuly, Toots Zynsky, Martin Blank, Czeslaw Zuber, Steve Tobin, and many other prominent names in the glass art world.
In addition to the headline auction event, the Glass Now weekend also featured ceremonies to honor the Museum's 2007 award recipients. Master artist Lucio Bubacco received the Artist as Hero Award and Robert and Sherrie Savett Rovner of PA were named 2007 "Emerging Collectors"
Weekend activities included visits to private homes, studios and glass demonstrations
