Special thanks to Brian Daggett & Franz Rabauer for their generous sponsorship of the 2009 Glass Now Auction.
Saturday, October 3, marked the National Liberty Museum's tenth anniversary Glass Now auction of fine glass art. More than 500 collectors, artists and friends from across the country and beyond attended this lively event to support the Museum's work teaching young people to reject violence and hate.
Glass Now 2009 included over 300 original works up for bid. Among the world-renowned artists represented were Dan Dailey, Kate Vogel & John Littleton, Dale Chihuly, Gianni Tosso and many others. Click here to view the 2009 Auction Catalog.
In addition to the fabulous Auction, the Glass Now weekend also featured our annual Awards Ceremony. The 2009 Award was especially heartwarming, as we presented our 10th Anniversary Collectors as Heroes Award to Museum Founder & Chairman Irvin J. Borowsky and his wife Laurie Wagman. We also reunited many of the distinguished glass artists and collectors who had received this award over the past ten years. Other weekend activities included visits to private homes and demonstrations at the studios of Paul Stankard and Bernard Katz.
Our staff and auction committee are now hard at work planning a fun-packed, activity-filled weekend for Glass Now 2010. To learn more about Glass Now 2010, click here .
