At the Friday night dinner of our Glass Now Weekend, the National Liberty Museum presents awards to artists and collectors who have distinguished themselves in the glass art community. These men and women have a unique connection to our Museum’s mission and we take this opportunity to thank them for their inspiration, insight and support.
On the occasion of our tenth anniversary, we are presenting this award to one of our own.
Our Founder/Chairman Irvin J. Borowsky, and his wife Laurie Wagman, will receive our 2009 “Collectors as Heroes” Award. An avid glass art collector for many years,
Mr. Borowsky created the National Liberty Museum around the ingenious concept that freedom is as fragile as glass. This unique theme has enabled us to share a message of peace and mutual respect with nearly half a million visitors since our doors opened.
We are also taking this opportunity for a stroll down memory lane, as we re-honor all of the previous recipients who have helped make Glass Now the tremendous success it has become.
Participants in the entire Glass Now Weekend are invited to the Friday Night Awards Dinner as our guests. If you are unable to attend the entire weekend, but would like to join us for this event, please call Meegan Coll at 215-925-2800, ext. 117.
We are also offering pages in our Glass Catalog for your tribute messages to our current and past honorees.
