If YOU were President, a craft to create your own
White House china
Saturday, February 17 – Monday, February 19, all-day activity
Our collection of authentic White House china reflects the personalities, passions and time in history of the U.S. Presidents and First Ladies. Jimmy Carter’s china is decorated with colorful fly fishing lures because he was a passionate outdoorsman. John F. Kennedy’s features bright green shamrocks because he was proud of his Irish heritage. If YOU were President, what designs would you choose? Your favorite color, hobby, sport, even animal or food could be on your dishes if you were sitting in the Oval Office. Explore our collection of White House china for inspiration then exercise your creativity to make your own!
Monday, February 19, at 1:00pm and 3:00pm
Which United States president loved jelly beans? Why did President Harrison put cornstalks on his presidential china?
We will be hosting Presidential Trivia at 1:00pm and 3:00pm on Monday, February 19. Bring your knowledge to compete for prizes and learn some surprising facts about our 45 presidents. You’ll have a chance to win Philly Passes for two accepted at over 30 Philadelphia institutions, NLM family memberships and apparel, gift cards to local restaurants, and more!
The Museum will be open 10am-5pm all three days of Presidents’ Day Weekend and admission is pay-as-you-wish on Monday, February 19.
