Caretoon Contest
We are pleased to announce the winners of the 2010 Caretoon Contest from entries received from 42 states and 105 countries. Please enlarge the image to the right to see the Adult and Student Winners, as well as several of the top runners-up.
We thank all the “Caretoonists” for your enthusiasm and participation. Our 2010 winners were selected by a panel of museum and education professionals, and representatives of The Leo & Peggy Pierce Family Foundation, sponsor of the contest in 2010.
The National Liberty Museum’s Caretoon Contest was created in 2005 after a Danish newspaper published a cartoon which generated terrible violence. To channel this powerful art form for a positive purpose, the Museum invited the public to create cartoons which express their personal vision of peace, diversity and concern for others.
The theme of the 2010 Caretoon Contest was "Heroes of Character," generating illustrations of both real-life heroes and the values that guide their lives. All of the winners and runners-up are on display in the Museum. We invite you to visit soon to enjoy this most creative exhibition.
Please watch for a link to our Facebook Poll to choose your favorites from our 2011 Caretoon Contest.
