We are pleased to announce the 2009 Caretoon Contest Winners from a record breaking 1,900 regional, national and international entries. Watch the images above to see the winning entries.
We thank all the “Caretoonists” for your enthusiasm and participation. Our 2009 winners were selected by a panel of museum and education officials, along with the L.W. Pierce Family Foundation, sponsor of the contest.
The National Liberty Museum’s Caretoon Contest was created after a Danish newspaper published a cartoon which generated terrible violence. To channel this powerful art form for a positive purpose, the Museum invites the public to create cartoons which express their personal vision of peace, diversity and concern for others.
The 2009 Winners and Runners-Up are on display in the Museum. We invite you to visit soon to enjoy this most creative exhibition.
